The train stations and bus stops serve as gathering spots. You can meet all kinds of folks there. There is a huge crowd on the platform as the train arrives and departs. Various crimes are also perpetrated in this riot of activity. They pick pockets. They even kidnap youngsters. One must exercise extreme caution.

When I happened to visit the train station the other day to see my friend Ali farewell, I purchased a platform ticket. After Mr. Ali purchased a ticket, we proceeded to the platform. There were already too many men, women, and kids there. A few were remaining near their bags. Others were moving around and conversing. The benches were occupied by the elderly. There was a lot of noise and hurry. Everyone wanted to remain near the fan because they were sweating profusely. People were swarming around the taps and water coolers.

A variety of stalls adorned the platform. Books, periodicals, newspapers, fruits, and meals were all selling like hotcakes. Everyone was waiting for the train to arrive. The only item under discussion was the timings of the train.

The train arrived after an hour’s delay. Everyone was rushing to board it first, including himself and his stuff. A few travelers were attempting to board it. Others were attempting to get off. There was a great deal of commotion and bustle. The fruit vendors and vendors lived in their own universe. In an attempt to draw attention, they were sobbing loudly. They were aiding the passengers, the red-shirted porters. The guard, meanwhile, blew the whistle. The train then steamed away when he waved a green flag. The platform again became deserted and dark.
